EDGAR KENNEDY

Edgar Kennedy started his movie career as a Mack Sennett Keystone Kop. He was known for his famous "slow burn" and appeared as a foil for Laurel and Hardy,  Our Gang and countless others besides feature work.

In 1931 RKO started  Mr. Average Man series with Edgar which turned into his own series and was so popular it ran until his death in 1948. It was the forerunner of the TV sitcom. Henpecked Edgar has a lazy good for nothing brother-in-law and haranguing mother-in-law living with them. Truly funny comedies and no laugh tracks needed. Cast Includes Florence Lake, Jack Rice, Dot Farley with guest stars like Jimmy Finlayson and Franklin Pangborn.
