This marital mix-up musical comedy was the winner of the first Academy Award for best short subject.Singer-bandleader Phil Harris becomes the tongue-in-cheek excuse for an wildly risqué endless array of sexual double entendres, usually delivered by women in sheer clothing in improbable locations. High comedy is provided by Walter Catlett and wait until you hear Jimmy Finlayson sing in verse! Music and lyrics by Will Jason.

Harris In The Spring (1937)

Directed by Leslie Goodwins. Joan Barclay, Jack Carson.

Band leader Phil Harris, through a misunderstanding, finds himself with a job as a professional escort, and a date to take a rich young society girl to a night club where is  band is playing. Phil is kept busy trying to keep the band from telling the girl who he really is, and to keep the girl distracted enough so she won't notice he is leading the band.

Buddy Rogers and his orchestra, Betty Jane Rhodes. Jitterbug music and a hot trumpet.

Arcade Varieties (1939)

Director: Milton Schwarzwald.

Old time arcade is used to set up musical segments with Lillian Roth, Frazee Sisters and other acts.
